People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner. I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.
― Carl R. Rogers, A Way of Being
Meet Kanishka
A sanctuary for the parts of you that have never found words.
For me, therapy is not about fixing. It’s a gentle journey back home to your truth, unfolding slowly and safely. People rarely come with just one problem. They carry lives that have demanded strength beyond measure. So, the mind crafts shields: overthinking to guard against loss, shutting down to escape overwhelm, people-pleasing to hold on to connection, perfectionism to find safety, and numbness to endure. These are not flaws but the stories your nervous system tells to help you survive.
I’m Kanishka, an RCI Licensed Clinical Psychologist (CRR No. A71039), Forensic Psychologist, and Ph.D. (Psychology) scholar. I have over 6 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults (15–60 years) across anxiety (including health anxiety), depressive states, OCD, personality-related difficulties, stress/somatoform concerns, adjustment concerns, and role transitions. I use careful assessment and structured formulation to ensure our work is clear and well-directed.
My approach centres on you and your emotions: we don’t just dissect feelings; we learn to hold them gently without overwhelm or shutdown. Trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT Levels 1 & 2), I blend evidence-based methods, including ICD-11 diagnostics, addiction care, and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy from the Beck Institute, tailored to your needs rather than trends. My experience spans private practice, hospitals, and forensic settings, including correctional and criminal justice. Upholding ethical boundaries, consent, and psychological safety is at the heart of my work.
I understand deeply what therapy means in the Indian context, where family ties run deep, privacy can be scarce, stigma is real, and walking away is rarely an option. The absence of social safety nets raises the stakes: a single health crisis can ripple through a household, a job change can affect an entire family, and responsibilities often come without safety nets. In therapy, we honour this reality. We work not just with emotions but with building stability, cultivating support, reinforcing culturally sensitive boundaries, easing inner burdens, and crafting coping strategies that fit your real life, not an idealized one.
Sessions are 50 minutes long (online via Google Meet), offered in Hindi or English, and open to India-based and international clients.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Psychotherapy is a carefully designed journey through emotional and relational challenges, guided by a trained professional who partners with you. Its goal goes beyond just talking or giving advice; it aims to ease distressing symptoms, break free from stuck coping habits, and nurture lasting psychological growth and development.
At the heart of psychotherapy lies the therapeutic alliance, a partnership between you and your therapist built on shared goals, agreed-upon methods, and a foundation of safety, trust, and consistency. When this bond is strong, therapy becomes a secure space where meaningful change can take root and grow. This practice is for individuals aged 15–60 who may look “fine” on the outside, studying, working, showing up, taking care of responsibilities, while privately feeling overwhelmed: anxious spirals, emotional shut-down, persistent tension, or repeating patterns that don’t shift.
- Anxiety or chronic overthinking
- Low mood, heaviness, or emotional numbness
- Trauma-related concerns or prolonged stress
- Dissociation
- Life transitions and role adjustments that feel heavier than expected
- OCD, health anxiety, and somatoform-related disorders
- Body image concerns
- Relationship patterns that repeat (over-giving, withdrawing, fear of abandonment)
- Self-esteem difficulties (self-criticism, shame, feeling “not enough”)
You don’t have to be in crisis to start. All you need is a feeling that something within you is calling for care, and a safe, structured space to explore it.

- Do you feel comfortable with your therapist?

Finding the right therapist can unlock your potential and speed up your progress in counseling.
Give yourself 2 to 3 sessions to build a connection with your therapist, unless you feel the personalities don’t match from the start. In that case, switching quickly is the best option. If you can tell immediately that the personality fit will not click, it makes sense to switch then. It’s best to switch at that moment.
During your first session, we explore the issues and concerns you want to address and look into different areas of your life to identify stressors. For some, this process extends into a second session. Afterwards, you’ll receive an assessment sheet that we’ll review together in the next meeting.
